Pop Singer Avril Lavigne was born in Belleville on September 27. She began singing when she was two years old and, after her father built her a studio in the basement, she began performing at county fairs. She married Deryck Whibley on July 15, 2006 and divorced him on November 16, 2010. She was then married to Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger from 2013 to 2015. Her hit single “Complicated” won her the MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist in a Video in 2002. Her single “Alice” was featured in Tim Burton’s movie Alice in Wonderland.
