MMA Fighter Miesha Tate was born in Tacoma on August 18. She was a state champion wrestler in high school. She started training in mixed martial arts while at Central Washington University.
She’s dated fellow UFC fighter Bryan Caraway.
She was named the Female Fighter of the Year at the MMA Awards in 2011. She won the bantamweight title in 2016 after submitting Holly Holm, but lost it in her next fight when she was submitted by Amanda Nunes.
